You
need not be at the mercy of the painter's judgment
any more , when it comes to estimating the
quantity and cost of paint .Surprise him with your
own calculations. They're very simple and pretty
accurate too.
To
begin with ,determine the area that requires
painting .For this ,you must measure out each wall
plus the ceiling. Then deduct those areas that
don't require painting (such as doors, windows
wall cupboards, tiles surfaces etc.):An easier
way to measure the floor area and multiply it by 5(four
walls and the ceiling) reducing the non relevant
non-painting areas accordingly.
Next
you need to know Unit Paint Cost.
this is calculated by dividing the Cost Per
Litre of the paint , by its covering
capacity .Covering capacity is the
total area in Sq feet that can be painted with a
litre of paint for a specified number of coats.
Naturally this will vary from paint to paint .So,
Unit Paint Cost and not Cost per litre
is the true indication of how economical or
expensive the paint will turn out to be.
Simply put, a higher Unit Paint Cost means higher
final cost.
