SANDING/SURFACE
PREPRATION When
painting an interior wall for the first time, allow
it to mature for a period at least 6 months
after application of a coat of lime-wash to
ensure thorough drying of plaster
.Then remove loose particles of flakes and
ensure that the surface is free from
dust,dirt,greese etc,by using appropriate
sandpaper. If the wall is being repainted
and the previous coating was of lime-wash or
powdered distemper, scrape it off thoroughly.
If it was oil based and in good condition
,remove the gloss by sanding. For wood,
ensure that the surface is free from all
loose dust and smooth-sand it along with the
grains with Emery Paper No 120.Metal
surfaces must be dry and free from rust, grease
